My Specialties
Are you struggling to live a meaningful and fulfilling life? Do you find yourself avoiding painful emotions or feeling overtaken by your emotions? Do you feel overwhelmed by the busyness of life and struggle to make time for what really matters to you? I have lived in several countries around the world, and my experiences have taught me that we all struggle with the givens of life.
I offer psychological services, mindfulness classes, and trauma therapy—both in-person and online. I work from offices in the Burnaby/Boundary and Fairview neighborhoods.
Therapy
I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (BC). I provide psychotherapy and psychological services. Many Extended Health insurance plans in BC cover psychological services. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm they cover psychological services.
Services are provided online, or at 405-3701 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC
Trauma
Working with you to increase your capacity to turn toward and face life’s challenges, overcome difficult experiences, make choices that align with your values, and create a rich, meaningful and authentic life. My work is grounded in motivational, mindfulness and acceptance-based approaches. I am also trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy.
Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), is a compassionate approach that supports clients with processing their traumatic experiences. It helps clients to better understand their problems, improve skills to manage symptoms, and cope with stress and overwhelming emotions
Trauma services are provided online, or at the West Coast Resiliency Centre (PTSD), Unit #401-1195 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a special way of paying attention. You already practice mindfulness from time to time, perhaps without even realizing it, but when you cultivate mindfulness through meditation and guided practice, it can become a very powerful way of being.
The hardest move in meditation is the one to your cushion, chair, or bench.
Practicing in a small class or group of fellow practitioners can be immensely supportive and helpful for developing or maintaining your own daily practice. If you think you could benefit from these communities of practice, I invite you to come sit with us.
